Apex Legends: An Ironclad Review

Apex Legends: An Ironclad Review

Be A Legend: An Apex Legends Review by Ironclad gaming.

Overview

Apex Legends is a Battle Royale first person shooter. Each match you are placed into squads of 3 players, a change up from the usual 4 player squads seen in recent popular battle royale games. Currently utilizing 8 unique legends as their tools of destruction, EA®️ set out to create a one-of-kind BR experience, and they did just that. Every legend is customizable through skins, stat trackers, banners, poses, and even humiliating finishers. With every type of gun you could desire at your fingertips, there’s no question that Apex is action packed. Looting, Positioning, and overall technical FPS skill are the main factors in this game.

Legends

There are currently 8 legends in the game, each of which has a unique tactical ability, as well as an ultimate ability. These legends also have an “ability” that requires no action to be taken in order to be used, known as a passive ability. I will go into each heroes abilities and proper use of each one in another article on our guides page.

Bloodhound

“The hunt begins”

“The hunt begins”

This character plays exactly as they sound. (And yes I meant to say they, as this is how it is stated on EA®️‘s official statement maybe suggesting binary gender? Although the voice actor is female.) They are a tracker of enemies, and also traps laid out by their foes. Bloodhound excels in the awareness catergory, making them an excellent battle royale character.

•Gibraltar

“My Shield, My Life”

“My Shield, My Life”

Makoa Gibralter, the shielded fortress. A search and rescue veteran, Gibralter is no stranger to getting friends out of danger. One of the tank legends of the game, Gibralter is more centered around a team style of play. His main focus is shielding himself and squad mates from incoming ultimates and gunfire.

•Lifeline

“It takes a lot to take me out”

“It takes a lot to take me out”

The daughter of wealthy war profiteers, Ajay Che, aka lifeline, realized the damages we family was causing and left home to enlist in a humanitarian organization that aids war torn families in need. Lifeline now competes in the apex games donating all of her winnings to victims of war. As a combat medic, she is an asset to any other legend in the game. She can also heal herself in the midst of a firefight to give her the upper hand.

Pathfinder

“Losing isn’t fun, that’s why I don’t do it”

“Losing isn’t fun, that’s why I don’t do it”

With no idea who he is, why he was created, or even who his creator is for that matter, Pathfinder is an oddball of this mashup of legends. Designed as a scouting bot, his kit equips him with a grappling hook and a deplorable zipline. Despite his circumstances, Pathfinder is the most hilariously optimistic robot I know. Whether gunning down an enemy that is bleeding out, or even just discovering a new kill leader, Pathfinder always has a way to make you laugh.

•Wraith

“There’s something wrong with your head if you fight me”

“There’s something wrong with your head if you fight me”

My personal favorite, Wraith is the most mobile character in the game. Not to mention she blows the top off of the cool factor! Wraith doesn’t know who she is, where she’s from, or even how old she is. She woke up some years ago in a mental detention facility, hearing a voice in her head that kept her up for days on end. When she finally gave in and began listening to the voice, she harnessed and mastered the power of the void. This inter-dimensional skirmisher is a force to be reckoned with.

Bangalore

“Clips are what civi’s put in their hair, this is a magazine.”

“Clips are what civi’s put in their hair, this is a magazine.”

A fan favorite, Bangalore is the powerhouse of the Apex games. Able to swiftly retreat just to leave behind a designated bombardment of delayed detonating artillery, Bangalore is a go to for players looking to find a hard carry character. Coming from a family of all military members, it’s no wonder Bangalore is the optimal choice for an all out offensive approach to the game.

•Caustic

“Intelligence is a dying breed, but not today.”

“Intelligence is a dying breed, but not today.”

Ahhh, Caustic. No better way to play a game than to sit back and watch the competition choke to death. Alexander Nox was a pesticide manufacturer once upon a time. He proceeded to perform experiments until he began realizing the effects his product had on living flesh, and then became obsessed. If you are looking for a super strategic, fortress camper, then Caustic is the legend for you.

•Mirage

“Most of the time, one is better than the other. And both of me are better than you”

“Most of the time, one is better than the other. And both of me are better than you”

A master of manipulation. A bonafide bamboozler. The one and only holographic trickster. Mirage can make you question reality as he fools you into shooting his decoy and revealing your position to him. There’s not much lore to this character other than he is the youngest of four brothers, and it shows. He only fooled around to get where he wanted. He never really cared for any activities even, other than holo-tech. He studied holograph technology for hours on end with his mother who was an engineer. All in all, mirage has his utilities and also his downfalls in the game.

Review

Looking over the game as a whole, it’s a work of art. If you were already a battle royale fan, this game will not let you down. If you’re not really into BR’s, take my word for it; it’s not like other BR’s. It’s a breath of fresh air, and I have been hooked on this game personally since launch. Ironclad gives this game a solid 8.5/10, definitely worth a download guys. If you wanna step up your game further, sound is key in any battle royale. This one is no exception, and you will get no better sound quality or awareness than the razer kraken headset. https://www.razer.com/Gaming-Audio/Razer-Kraken-Tournament-Edition/p/RZ04-02051000-R3M1
