Good Night, Knight: Is It Worth It?
Good Night, Knight came across my radar during an itch.io browsing binge. This indie title was different that is for sure. The Good Night, Knight is a dungeon crawler that is dynamic in nature. RedEmber the developers of the game definitely poured their hearts into it. Even though you can feel the dedication the developers made, is the game worth it? Let’s find out.
For starters this game will probably give you a chuckle with its quirks. The game has a layer of humor that was executed in a clever way. Good Night, Knight features a combat system that allows you to attack and defend by clicking in the direction of your target. This means that you can miss your target completely and get blindsided. Good Night, Knight also allows you to take actions that many 16-bit games don’t, like stealth and jumping. RedEmber really did a great job of adding stealth to the game and making it really easy to activate said stealth. Stealth will play a huge factor in the game and you’ll learn more about that when you play. Good Night, Knight has all the standard RPG elements with potions, food, and sleeping. The main difference is the fact that you can craft different items to give you the edge in battle.
Good Night, Knight is still in development. I kept this review short because I didn’t want to get into too much detail about an incomplete game. Good Night, Knight is definitely worth trying out. You can find a free demo on itch.io. If you like humor and action in your RPGs then Good Night, Knight is definitely the game for you. Give it a shot today!
