Halo MCC On PC: Finally

Halo MCC On PC: Finally

The Wait Is Over

Halo is finally coming to MCC and they are adding Reach to the collection. The classic space shooter will now be playable on your computer, and we couldn’t be more excited. I have been personally waiting for this for 9 years since I officially became a PC gamer. I played so many games trying to find a game exactly like Halo and the only game I could find that was even remotely close is Tribes: Ascend, rest in peace Tribes. I eventually gave up and gave in and bought an Xbox One after trying to find a Halo port for PC that lead me to some Russian version of the game.

Said It Before

In the first Halo article I wrote about I said that Halo on PC would be phenomenal for the series. I mean honestly if we look at why some of the current FPS game are on top the answer is pretty obvious. They are on multiple systems. While they also happen to do a better job managing their eSports Overwatch and Call of Duty are really only dominate due to the abundance of the game. I love those games, but Halo will always have a special place in my heart. Halo limited itself to Xbox for far too long and they really killed the game’s community. How many of you were once hardcore console gamers and switched to PC?

Weary

The community is a bit weary about Halo on PC. The current state of Halo is a bit chaotic. There are issues of shots not registering and connection issues. This has actually been a concern of the Master Chief Collection for a long time. The concern is that if they put a broken game onto PC the game will just die completely, but I disagree. This gives 343i a second chance. They can have a whole new alpha, then closed beta, then open beta, and finally a full release. They actually have the chance to re-release a game that is broken onto a much more popular console. It’s like Smite, but in reverse. 343 can redeem themselves and actually become strict competition in the computer FPS market. With the eSports of FPS games mainly being CoD, Overwatch, Rainbow Six, and Counter Strike there isn’t really a game like Halo. Honestly if you call yourself a Halo fan and you aren’t absolutely stoked for it coming to PC then I really don’t think you like Halo. You just like the fact that other people can’t play it. The game is going to get a whole resurgence, we saw it with Smite. Smite was basically dying before it came to console then it got it’s second life. Now it is doing pretty well for itself. In all I am incredibly happy for Halo on PC and I will be telling every single person that everyday.
